Eleven Madison Park Drops Meat
High class restaurant, Eleven Madison Park located in NYC, has dropped all meat after the Covid-19 pandemic. Eleven Madison Park is famous for their upscale dinning and gourmet menu; meals such as, glazed duck, the butter-poached lobster and foie gras. Chef Daniel Humm claims his restaurant will replace animal products with plant-based options. Currently, the restaurants most famous menu change being: the amaranth seed and sweet peas served with a creamy fermented almond cream and pea-miso puree. The alter in menu is exciting, but why change? Over the pandemic, the team at Eleven Madison Park got to work. While Covid had the restaurant closed, the employees focused on feeding the…

Comparing Impossible & Beyond
A couple months ago I did a blind taste test between plant-based meat and real meat. Last night, my family and I did a comparison between Impossible meat and Beyond meat. To start off, I compared the color and texture of the two uncooked plant-based meats. Impossible had a dense texture with a red color. Beyond meat had a much different texture because of the white wafer like balls in the meat; the wafers gave the meat a crunchier texture. Beyond meat also had a much darker brown color. The first step was to ball the meat into patty shapes, the patties were a little more thick then regular meat…

What Are GMOs?
When the question, “is it safe to have chemicals pumped into the food we are eating” is presented, a lot of people’s initial answer is no. That answer is probably because GMOs have a lot of negative affiliations due to people’s reactions to eat something ‘unnatural’. GMO stands for genetically modified organism, which sounds unnatural; but in the same sense cows and corn are natural, genetically modified food is as well. Human beings have been harvesting and growing food for thousands of years. At the beginning of those thousands of years food like corn and cattle looked and tasted a lot different than today. That is because over those thousands of…

Corporate Social Responsibility What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ? CSR is a program in a company that self-regulates the company’s contribution to societal goals. Chili Recipe
This is my mom’s homemade meat and meatless chili! This chili is so addicting, nutritious and great for cold winter days. It was super fun cooking the chili both ways and visually seeing the difference in the process. I suggest even if you’re hesitant about meatless foods, you give it a try. Plant-based chili Ingredients (serves 4) 1 lb plant-based ground meat (such as Impossible Burger or Beyond Beef) 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 1 tablespoon oil (such as vegetable or canola) 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder 1 tablespoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon salt 1 can (28oz) tomatoes, undrained (can be whole or diced) 1 can (6oz) tomato paste…

How does Plant-Based Meat Help Our Climate?
Most of the vegetarians I know aren’t vegetarian for a diet. Like I discussed in the health article about plant based meat, fake meat and real meat have about the same effects for your health. If they have the same health effects as real meat, then why not stick with real meat? Whether you know it or not, meat manufactures of toady are one of the leading causes for climate change. Why is it morally incorrect? Today the average American male eats 4.8 ounces and American women eats 3.1 ounces of meat per day. There are 328.2 million people living in the United States right now. That’s almost 100 million…

Is Plant Based Meat Healthy?
This is a complicated question I receive a lot as a vegetarian. It's a complex question because of the different layers of questions in side the main question. Some of those questions are: Is it healthy in comparison to real meat? Is it healthy for loosing weight and dieting? Is it safe to put scientifically grown food in your body?
